NGSPB
Project | Web Design & Development
The Natural Gas Society of the Permian Basin (NGSPB) needed a new website. Their existing site was outdated — there was no member login, no way to make payments online, and no way to RSVP for events. The treasurer was spending hours each month manually collecting and keeping track of dues and event payments, which was inefficient and difficult to manage. In addition, the Society was seen as old-fashioned and membership numbers among younger industry professionals were lagging.

Opportunity
Design and develop a new website, adding key functionalities and refreshing the Society’s image.
Strategy
We wanted the new NGSPB website to do two things: attract new members, particularly younger professionals, and address the pain points NGSPB was experiencing around collecting dues, event fees, and RSVPs.
In order to appeal to the younger demographic, we updated the look and feel of the site through modern imagery and a more approachable (though still professional) tone of voice. We also made the site mobile-responsive, bringing it up to modern standards.
We custom-coded the website on WordPress, integrating a member portal and an events calendar. These integrations allow users to pay dues and renew their memberships online, as well as RSVP to events and submit associated payments. The new NGSPB website was more useful to the Society and more user-friendly for members.
Results
In the months after the new NGSPB website launched, the Society saw a dramatic increase in membership, particularly among members under 40. The burden of manually collecting RSVPs, dues, and other payments was alleviated, and event turnout reached an all-time high. NGSPB also reported receiving numerous compliments on the new site.
“I am absolutely thrilled with the results of the website.
Macleod & Co. is extremely talented and I believe we could not have picked a better team.”
